Council Meeting Minutes — October 12, 2015

MINUTES OF THE REGULARLY SCHEDULED BENTON CITY COUNCIL MEETNG ON OCTOBER 12, 2015 AT 6:00 P.M. IN THE BENTON MUNCIPAL BUILDING LOCATED AT 500 WEST MAIN STREET, BENTON, ILLINOIS.

MAYOR KONDRITZ CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AND DIRECTED ROLL TO BE CALLED. THOSE PRESENT WERE COMMISSIONER MOORE, COMMISSIONER BAUMGARTE, COMMISSIONER WYANT, COMMISSIONER MILLER, AND MAYOR KONDRITZ.

COMMISSIONER MILLER MADE A MOTION TO WAIVE READING OF AND APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE SEPTEMBER 28, 2015 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING. SECOND BY COMMISSIONER BAUMGARTE. VOTE WAS TAKEN. YEAS: 5. COMMISSIONER MOORE, COMMISSIONER BAUMGARTE, COMMISSIONER WYANT, COMMISSIONER MILLER, AND MAYOR KONDRITZ. NAYS: 0.

COMMISSIONER BAUMGARTE MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE PURCHASE ORDER
002259 TO UNIVERSAL CHEMICALS FOR 275 GALLONS OF DIGEST-ALL AND 30 GALLONS OF CITRUS FLOAT IN THE AMOUNT OF $8053.25. SECOND BY COMMISSIONER WYANT. VOTE WAS TAKEN. YEAS: 5. COMMISSIONER MOORE, COMMISSION WYANT, COMMISSIONER BAUMGARTE, COMMISSIONER MILLER, AND MAYOR KONDRITZ. NAYS: 0.

COMMISSIONER BAUMGARTE OPENED ONE BID FOR PAINTING OF CAR MUSEUM FROM RP COATINGS IN THE AMOUNT OF $6500.00. MOTION BY COMMISSIONER BAUMGARTE TO TABLE ACTION. SECOND BY COMMISSIONER WYANT. VOTE WAS TAKEN. YEAS: 5. COMMISSIONER MOORE, COMMISSION WYANT, COMMISSIONER BAUMGARTE, COMMISSIONER MILLER AND MAYOR KONDRITZ.

COMMISSIONER WYANT MADE A MOTION FOR APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION 15-17 TO UNRESTRICT FUNDS FROM EAST WEBSTER STREET PROJECT. SECOND BY COMMISSIONER MILLER. VOTE WAS TAKEN. YEAS: 5. COMMISSIONER BAUMGARTE, COMMISSIONER WYANT, COMMISSION MOORE, COMMISSIONER MILLER AND MAYOR KONDRITZ. NAYS: 0.

COMMISSIONER MOORE PRESENTED PURCHASE ORDER #002304 TO RAY O’ HERRON FOR 1 RADAR RAPTOR DUAL K-BAND IN THE AMOUNT OF $1600.00. THE AMOUNT OF $1200.00 WILL COME FROM MONEY DONATED BY THE ROTARY.

COMMISSIONER MILLER MADE A MOTION TO PAY BILLS AS PRESENTED. SECOND COMMISSIONER BAUMGARTE. VOTE TAKEN. COMMISSIONER MILLER MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE SEWER ADJUSTMENTS AS PRESENTED. SECOND COMMISSIONER WYANT. VOTE WAS TAKEN. YEAS: 4. COMMISSIONER MILLER PRESENTED SEWER ADJUSTMENT ELIJAH SENTEL OF 10973 PRESTWICK DRIVE THAT DID NOT MEET REQUIREMENTS FOR SEWER ADJUSTMENT. COMMISSIONER MILLER MADE A MOTION TO DECLINE THE APPLICATION. SECOND COMMISSIONER BAUMGARTE. VOTE WAS TAKEN. YEAS: 5. COMMISSIONER MILLER MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE RESOLUTION 15-19 FOR IMRF PARTICIPATION BY ELECTED OFFICIALS. SECOND COMMISSIONER BAUMGARTE. VOTE WAS TAKEN. YEAS: 5. COMMISSIONER WYANT, COMMISSIONER BAUMGARTE, COMMISSIONER MOORE, COMMISSIONER MILLER AND MAYOR KONDRITZ. NAYS: 0.

COMMISSIONER MILLER PRESENTED TAX LEVY ORDINANCE COMMENCING MAY 01, 2015 AND ENDING APRIL 30, 2016 TO BE HELD OVER FOR REVIEW UNTIL NEXT COUNCIL MEETING.

ATTORNEY MALKOVICH ADVISED COUNCIL THAT WEST CITY HAS EXECUTED THE DISPATCH AGREEMENT.

MAYOR KONDRITZ ADVISED THE COUNCIL THAT A DUSK TO DAWN LIGHT NEEDED TO BE PUT ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE CAR MUSUEM. COMMISSIONER MILLER MADE A MOTION TO HAVE FW ELECTRIC OR AMEREN INSTALL A LIGHT.

COMMISSIONER MILLER ADVISED COUNCIL THAT IT WAS TIME TO SET UP FLU SHOTS TO BE HELD AT CITY HALL. COMMISSIONER MILLER WILL BE SETTING UP TIME AND DATE.
