City of Benton, Illinois — YouTube API Services Privacy Notice
The City of Benton, Illinois operates an internal software utility that uploads recordings of the City’s public meetings to the City’s official YouTube channel. This utility uses YouTube API Services.
What it accesses. The utility authenticates to a single Google account owned by the City — the account that owns the City’s YouTube channel. It does not access, collect, or store information about any other person’s Google or YouTube account. It has no end users and no public interface.
What it stores. The utility stores a credential authorizing it to upload to the City’s channel, and a local record of which meeting recordings have already been uploaded — a source video identifier, the resulting YouTube video identifier, and a timestamp. Video files are deleted from local storage after upload. No YouTube analytics, viewer information, subscriber information, or other API data is retrieved or retained.
Sharing. No data is shared with any third party. No advertising is served. No cookies or similar tracking technologies are used.
Revoking access and deleting data. Access may be revoked at any time through the Google security settings page at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. Following revocation, the stored credential is deleted within 30 calendar days. Requests to delete data held by this utility are honored within 7 calendar days.
Governing terms. Use of YouTube API Services is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service at https://www.youtube.com/t/terms and the Google Privacy Policy at http://www.google.com/policies/privacy.

City of Benton, Illinois — Terms of Use: Meeting Recording Upload Utility
Scope. These terms govern use of the internal software utility operated by the City of Benton, Illinois that uploads recordings of the City’s public meetings to the City’s official YouTube channel (the “Utility”). The Utility is operated solely by authorized City staff. It has no public interface and is not made available to residents or to any third party.
Agreement to YouTube’s terms. The Utility uses YouTube API Services. By using the Utility, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, available at https://www.youtube.com/t/terms.
Privacy. Information handling by the Utility is described in the City’s YouTube API Services Privacy Notice. Google’s handling of information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy at http://www.google.com/policies/privacy.
Permitted use. Authorized City staff may use the Utility only to upload recordings of the City’s own public meetings to the City’s own YouTube channel. Uploading third-party content, or use for any purpose other than publishing the City’s public meeting recordings, is not permitted.
Revoking access. Access granted to the Utility may be revoked at any time through the Google security settings page at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.
No warranty; official record. The Utility is provided as an administrative convenience. Recordings published through it are not the official record of any meeting. The official record of a City Council meeting is the minutes as approved by the City Council.
