Helping Small Business in Benton

The City of Benton dedicates itself to helping the small businesses, within our community, navigate through these uncharted times. This includes, offering assistance in working to obtain grant money for time and revenue lost during the COVID-19 situation.

Below, you will find a downloadable pdf of the application for the Downtown Small Business Stabilization Program. The additional link will take you to the homepage of the state grant programming, which outlines the fundamentals of the program, the highest granted amount and a small explanation of the process involved.

We encourage small businesses in town, who are interested in the program, to fill out the three page application and email it to David Garavalia at: zoning@bentonil.com. You can also contact David with any questions about your application at 618-439-6141 ext 406. Please note, the documents are downloadable from this page (below) and are NOT available for pickup at City Hall. Due to the Governor’s shelter in place order, the City Hall is currently closed to the public.

After your application is submitted, the City must follow a particular process which includes Council’s approval of the program, a town hall meeting, endorsement and submission of selected applicants. Please bear with us while we take on this portion of the process on your behalf. Like with most state awarded funds, the submission of your business’s application is the first step of many.

Thank you for your diligence, your hard work and your perseverance during this crisis. We will do everything we can to aid in our small business’ success following these uncertain times.
