MINUTES OF THE REGULARLY SCHEDULED BENTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON OCTOBER 26, 2015 AT 6:00 P.M. IN THE BENTON MUNICIPAL BUILDING LOCATED AT 500 WEST MAIN STREET, BENTON, ILLINOIS.
MAYOR KONDRITZ CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AND DIRECTED ROLL TO BE CALLED. THOSE PRESENT WERE COMMISSIONER BAUMGARTE, COMMISSIONER WYANT, COMMISSIONER MILLER, AND MAYOR KONDRITZ. COMMISSIONER MOORE WAS ABSENT.
MAYOR KONDRITZ INVITED MICHAEL WYANT FROM THE AIRPORT BOARD TO SPEAK TO THE CITY COUNCIL. MR. WYANT STATED THAT THE AIRPORT HAD RECEIVED A LETTER STATING THEY HAD BEEN AWARDED A $670,000.00 GRANT FOR A PERIMETER FENCE. THIS FENCE WOULD HELP WITH KEEPING WILDLIFE OFF THE RUNWAYS.

UNDER MATTERS FROM THE PUBLIC AUDIENCE, ROCKY MORRIS WANTED TO GO ON RECORD THAT HE AGREED WITH AMENDING THE GOLF CART ORDINANCE TO INCLUDE THE CHILD PASSENGER PROTECTION ACT DUE TO THE DANGERS THAT CAN OCCUR.
ALSO UNDER MATTERS FROM THE PUBLIC, VERNON ROBERTS STATED HE HAD SOME ISSUES WITH PARKING OF INOPERABLE/ABANDONED VEHICLES IN HIS NEIGHBORHOOD. THE COUNCIL TOLD MR. ROBERTS THEY WOULD CONTINUE TO LOOK INTO THIS SITUATION.
